At a meeting of the Northern Cross-Country Association at Manchester on Saturday, it was decided to hold the championships for 1929 at Alderley Edge, on the estate of Lord Stanley, on Saturday, February 23.
The races will be decided over a two miles circuit, which will be laid out so that the runners will be in full view throughout each of the three races.
The meeting had under discussion the venue for the National Championship of 1930, when it is the turn of the North to house that event, but it was felt that the question of the president came into the argument, and the decision was left over until the annual meeting.
The following dubs were admitted to membership:- Lancaster Freehold Harriers, Wallasey A.C., Asbestos A.C., Consett and District Harriers, West Hartlepool, Gosforth Park, and Slaithwaite Harriers while resignations on account of poor support were accepted from Horbury A.C., East Hull, South Leeds, Sacred Heart (St. Helens), Burnley Lads, and Salford A.C.
