Last Saturday the above club entertained their friends, North Liverpool Gymnasium Harriers at Wallasey, the fixture being a race of seven miles.
Owing to the small number of men that came to represent North Liverpool, it was decided to count only the first four men home of each team. The result of the race was that Wallasey won by the good margin of 20 points, placing four men in the first five. T. J. Brookes, the popular sub-captain, took the lead at the start, which he kept all through, eventually winning by quite a minute from R. Young (Wallasey). The first four men of each team were:-Wallasey: T. J. Brookes, 1; R. Young. 2; F. L. Thornton. 3; R. J. Lowes. 5; total 11. North Liverpool: R. Cummins, 4; Stephens, 8; Pople, 9; Haddow, 10; total 31.
This afternoon there, is a race with Pembroke H. & A.C. and Liverpool H. & A.C., at Wallasey. Members are earnestly requested to be at headquarters early, so that the race can be finished before dark.
