Last Saturday saw the usual gathering of faces old and new at Club H.Q. to take part in the 3½ mile Christmas Handicap.
As frequently happens in a handicap of this kind the limit man Bob McCaig jnr. had lasted the course well to come in a clear winner.
Second and third places were taken by John Young and Billy Harris respectively, who both put in some most determined running over the last 11 miles of shore and sandhills.
Today there is a club run from H.Q. commencing at 3.15 p.m. while next Saturday sees the first of the season's big events when the Cheshire County championships will be held from the Oval at Port Sunlight.
