Three hundred and eighty runners, representing 35 clubs, contested the three West Lancashire Cross-Country Championships at Leyland on Saturday.
Several internationals took part. The course, round the Farington Works of Leyland Motors. Ltd., a natural one, was in good condition. It comprised about 400 yards of ploughed land in each lap, three streams and rough grassland. In the senior event (Sutton Harriers) led all the way to win easily. Results :-Youths (3 mile) - T.
