Over 350 runners from Lancashire clubs competed in the annual championships of the West Lancashire Cross-Country Association, held at Lancaster, on Saturday
The event was favoured by sunny weather but soft ground made the hilly course difficult. The senior race, over nine miles, attracted a field or 150. Arthur Williams, the Welsh International, who was running for Sutton Harriers, took an early lead, and was an easy winner. One of his team mates (G. Edgar) was second. Sutton Harriers won the team championship. It. was Williams' third successive win in these events and his club achieved a similar distinction. P.
