Wallasey athlete, Robin Jones won two races in four days last week.
Firstly, in Wallasey Athletic Club's 5,000 metres championships, Robin pulled away from the chasing group after a tactical start to the race, to win in 16 mins 7 secs. Second was Rob McWilliam in a persona best time of 16:27. Keith Simpson and James Downey gained third and fourth places respectively.
In Wallasey 10-mile fun run, Jones was again the winner! He clocked a personal best of 51 minutes 46 seconds. Mike Garbutt and Mal Hardcastle ran personal bests of 57:09 and 58:22 respectively.
The first woman in the race was Marie Henry, who clocked 58:49. Other respectable performances among Wallasey's athletes came from Peter Upton, 14-year-old Phil Cuthbert; Sue Knight and Jane Dyer.
