Wales was the setting for the fourth Prestatyn half-marathon.
A tough course and a talented field proved no obstacle for David Barnes (Wirral A.C.) and Dave Wilson (Wallasey A.C.).
By the first mile Barnes and Wilson, were in front and pushing a hard pace which by only four miles and taken its toll on other runners.
At six miles Barnes surged and Wilson, not expecting an early break, allowed a 10 yard gap to open.
Wilson dug in and maintained that gap closing it at eight miles only to fade in the last mile as Barnes got stronger and headed in to take first prize followed in by Wilson.
