Kevin McGee, of Salford Harriers, was first man home with a time of 15 mins 13 secs in the Wirral Seaside Run from Moreton to Harrison Drive. Other winning performances in various sections of the field of 150 runners were Lynne Kennedy of Wallasey A.C. in 18:52 (first girl under 18); Gordon Robinson of Wallasey A.C. in 19.23 (veteran); Billy Lawlor of Wallasey A.C. in 19.40 (first
boy under 16); Collette Winstanley of Wallasey A.C. in 21.05 (first girl under 14).
Paul Bateman, unattached, in 21.42 (first boy under 12); Derek Lee Thompson of Mersey Retroes in 22.10 (first boy under 14); Lynne McCartney, unattached, in 22.44 (first girl under 12). The fourth Wirral Seaside Run is planned for Sunday, September 8, with another run in October if there is sufficient interest.

The ran covers a five kilometre coarse along New Brighton promenade, starting at 11 a.m. and although no A.A.A. permit has been applied for, all finishers will have a time certificate awarded. Registration by post costs £1; to take part, send a SAE and the fee to the race secretary, 64 Mount Road, Wallasey.
