Wallasey Athletic Club took part in the final round of the Liverpool & District League last Sunday, at Arrowe Park.
Paul Johnson was Wallasey's only runner in the colt's race, but overcame the conditions well to finish 24th.
Nigel Thompson and Geoff Nuttall finished seventh and 11th respectively in the boy's race and have thus both had excellent runs in each of die three league races.
Steve Pullin, a newer member of the club, had a better run than in his previous race by finishing 30th.
Three Wallasey runners finished in the first 15 in the youth's race. Andy Pennington in his first year as a youth, had an excellent run to finish eighth, white behind him Rob Howarth scored a slightly unexpected victory over Ian Wiggins, as the two finished 13th and 15th respectively. In the senior race the first two scoring places were filled by impressive runs from Pete Lonsdale and Alec Boughey, though their previous, orders was reversed on this occasion, as Pete in 56th took more readily to the conditions than Alec in 68th.
James Downey showed the beginnings of a return to form after injury by finishing 104th at the end of a close contest with Peter Smith who finished 110th.
