The first League meeting of the Merseyside clubs at wet Warrington on Saturday confirmed Wallasey Athletic Club's confidence for the future.
The under-13's race was won by a Sefton Harrier, with Neil Tunstall in close proximity, but in 25th position. His brother, Mike, on advice from coach D. Hanna, went for the front of the field in the boys' section and finished a creditable third.
In support of Mike Tunstall were P. Ashley (13th) and T. Bond (18th) and in the youths' race L. Jones finished 20th.
Training nights are Monday and Thursday at St. George's School with Tuesday as gymnasium night at the same venue.
Wednesday is track training night at Woodchurch and Saturdays are a must for the cross-country runners.
