Wallasey Athletic Club finished 10th in the Sefton Park Road Relay championships on Saturday. Liverpool Harriers took the lead at the second stage and went on to win the event by a comfortable margin.
Sutton Harriers led over the first, three-mile stage with Dave Lindesay running for WAC, for the first time this season in sixth position. He recorded 16mins. 42secs., the fastest time by a Wallasey runner,
Mike Teahan dropped three places in the second leg with a disappointing time of 18.14, Bob Brimage finished his stage in 17.24 but Wallasey dropped further places in the other stages, to leave their final runner, John Lynch with a lonely run.
Today athletes will compete in an inter-club cross-country at Warrington and tomorrow the women's team will run in an annual relay event at Bingley.
