Last Saturday during Liverpool Police 56th annual sports at Fairfield, Tony Dickinson gained third place in the open mile handicap to Mark Maleedy of Sutton Harriers, who also beat him on the previous Saturday at Speke, and the winner W. Berry of Norwich.
Tony is having a good season taking advantage of his present big handicap. His younger brother, Denis, is also competing regularly this season but naturally his successes last season have reduced his handicap to 130 yards, whereas Tony is still starting off the 190 yards. In fact Denis was narrowly beaten by Harrison of Sutton Harriers in a tussle for the back markers prize in the race on Saturday.
All members and friends of Wallasey Athletic Club are invited to the dance at Harrison Hall, this Saturday night.
