Two races, seven miles for the seniors and juniors, and four miles for the youths, were run last Saturday afternoon, when Sefton, Boundary and Pembroke Harriers were the guests of Wallasey Athletic Club at their Leasowe Road headquarters.
Pembroke runners-up to the Liverpool & District Senior Champions this year, had a strong team out, and won the seven miles race decisively. Only Arkless of Wallasey (5th) could get amongst them: other Wallasey runners were, H. Thompson (8th), Tony Dickinson (11th), A. Simpson (15th), R. McCaig (17th), E. Bollard (18th), J. Rimmer (21st), and C. R. Hewson (24th). Sefton Harriers won the youths' race.
This Saturday afternoon the West Lancashire Championships are being run at Croston. Wallasey Athletic Club's coach leaves Seacombe Ferry promptly at 1 p.m., calling at the Birkenhead Dock entrance to the Tunnel at 1:15 p.m., and at the main Liverpool entrance to the Tunnel at 1:15 p.m.
