Wallasey A.C. promote their first road and relay races today as part of the Wallasey Festival of Sport.
The youths' event at 2.30 p.m. is a team race and around a 2¼ mile circuit of King's Parade and the club have two good teams entered.
The senior event takes the form of a road relay over the same course, and each team is composed of four runners, the winning team taking the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo Cup as well as some handsome prizes.
Favourite for this event will be Manchester and District Lads' Club, who can boast half-a-dozen international runners in their ranks, whilst Wallasey will be hard to beat in the youths' event, with Midland champions Warley as their greatest threat.
