With the Sefton Park Road Relay Race only two weeks away, the probable teams for Wallasey Athletic Club are taking shape.
The 'A'' team will no doubt consist mainly of the 'old hands', Ron Barlow, John Wright, Brian Woolford, Roy, Parry, Brian Chalton and either John Young or David Field.
The 'B' side will be considerably stronger than last year, and with the spare man from the 'A' team plus Mark Aldridge, John Hughes, Tony Parry, and, if fit, Mike Firth and Mike Teahan, they should not finish so far down the field as in 1963.
Before this, there is the Chris Vose 7-mile road race at Warrington, and as this event attracts one of the best fields in the north, the club will need to be in top gear to win.
The proposed training camp which was to have been held this weekend has now been postponed until the early spring and members will be notified of the new date,
Netball: The netball practice match held last Monday will be repeated next Monday at 6,30 p.m. and a team to enter the Youth League will then be selected, under the captaincy of Margaret Ashcroft.
