Wallasey Athletic Club track and field champion Carl Gee recently passed is final A.A.A. examinations for the discus and shot events and is now the first fully qualified A.A.A. honorary senior coach in the Merseyside area. He has also been appointed a staff coach at the A.A.A. Summer School at Loughborough College next August.
These well earned successes came after many successful years as a competitor during which he represented Cheshire on many occasions, the 1962 track season he was Cheshire County discus champion for the third time and he was, third in the Northern championships.
Gee is also a qualified Women's A.A.A. honorary coach for the high jump, discus and shot events.
Wallasey is indeed fortunate in possessing a coach of his calibre. With his wide experience of all athletic events it is to be hoped that the youth of Wallasey will avail themselves of his services when he commences his evening coaching sessions on Tuesday next at Wallasey A.C. headquarters on Leasowe Road Playing Fields. Gee will be available every Tuesday evening and on other evenings by arrangement.
