Last Saturday at Leyland, Ron Barlow of Wallasey won the youth's race in the H. S. Finney Trophy meeting. Following him were D. White 7th and P. Townsend 17th.
In the boy's race Morris was 5th, Edwards 9th, and Davies 11th. This is a gratifying result.
Barlow already holds the Northern Counties youth title as well as several local titles. Any youth in the borough who would like to join in with Ron Barlow and try for these titles should write to R. F. Hubbard, 44 Tollemache Street, Wallasey. This Saturday, the novice championship is being held and all novices, officials and seniors should be ready to start at club H.Q. at 3:15 p.m.
The club ladies section is still in the strongest position attainable in the Wallasey Netball League. They have not been beaten as yet and recently played Riverside whom they beat 36-4 and the 'formidable' Cadbury's side which was beaten 23-11. This Saturday they play Moreton and it is to be hoped the record will be kept up. Any lady wishing to take part in the winter exercise of netball should contact Miss J. Massey, 200 Seaview Road., Wallasey.
