This year sees the Wallasey Athletic Club in its sixtieth year, and as part of the Jubilee celebrations, a competition known as a 'Parluuf' is being staged at our Headquarters in Leasowe Road.
This is a competition in which small teams of runners compete, in a race rather like a glorified relay race. The idea behind it is that the team which covers the greatest distance in the specified time are the winners. It is hoped to have teams of three competing but if a sufficient number of athletes turn out, teams of four will be racing.
The Jubilee Dinner is being held at the Sandrock Hotel, New Brighton, this Saturday (24th), at 6.45 p.m., for 7.15 p.m.
