Cross-Country - Wallasey Harriers & Athletic Club

The general meeting of the above club was held at "Edale," Withens-lane, Liscard on Friday evening, Mr. A. G. Nicholson presiding.

The financial statement showed balance of about £2 in hand.

Mr. A. G. Nicholson, who has recently been appointed president of the West Lancashire Cross-Country Association was unanimously elected to the same position in the Wallasey Club. The following were also elected:- Captain, Mr. C. H. Spence; sub-captain, Mr. R. Young; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. G. Scoins; hon. secretary, Mr. Peter Scott; handicappers, Messrs. Nicholson and Spence; auditors, Messrs. Thornton and Figueiredo; committee, Messrs. Collins, Figueiredo, T. Hughes, R. J. Lowes, Monks, Plant, and Thornton.

It was decided to continue to hold the dances which have proved such successes in former years, a sub-committee being appointed for that purpose.

Fixtures have been arranged with many prominent clubs, and with the influx of the new members who have already joined the club should be in a stronger position than ever this year.

The first run will be held to-day (Saturday) from the Conservative Club-rooms, Wallasey Village, at 3-15, when any intending members will be heartily welcomed, or if unable to get along, any particulars may be obtained from the secretary, Mr. Scott, 18, Sandrock-road, Liscard.
