Last Saturday the above club hold an ordinary run from headquarters, there being again a good muster of runners. Nearly every week now one or two members are enrolled.
The course followed on Saturday was the usual seven mile course except that just after leaving Bidston the pack was divided into two sections, the "fasts" and the "slows," the former going a bit further afield than the latter, whom they re-joined however at the Birket. Here there was the usual fun with regard to the various methods of reaching the other side. To-day the club takes part in a three-cornered contest with Liverpool and Sefton from the latter's headquarters (Cattle Market Inn, Stanley). Members are requested to meet at the Town Hall, Liverpool, at 2.45 p.m. prompt.
This week the club has lost one of its most enthusiastic member's in Jim Turnbull, who sailed on Wednesday last from Southampton for Nicaragua. He was a member of the committee of the club, and took a very lively interest in its welfare, and was indeed a real jolly good fellow. His numerous friends are exceedingly sorry to lose him, but one and all wish him the best of good luck in the future. Several members of the club gave him a hearty send-off from Lime-street Station on Tuesday morning on his way to Southampton.
The club whist drive and dance on the 3rd inst. was a splendid success, and if what one hears is true, the next one, January 5th, will be even better still.
