The W.A.C. were entertained along with Knotty Ash Harriers at Wallasey on Saturday last. The weather was again fine, and a good run over Bidston, Moreton and Leasowe districts were indulged in.
The members lined up for the "break" home at the Buffet corner, Leasowe-road, and finished up at Wallasey Station, the distance being about 1¼ miles. Knotty Ash Harriers furnished the first man home on R. M. Ward, Peter Scott, of Wallasey, being runner-up. Wirral, as a result of splendid packing under the guidance of Captain Sep Francom, finished their first six men as follows:- 3 Kendrick, 4 Sep Francom, 5 H. Ledson, 6 T. H. Langley, 7 G. W. Wilkinson, S. J. H. Bolt
Wallasey's six men finished in the following order:- 2nd, 11th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, Knotty Ash 1st, 13th, 14th, 20th, 24th, 28th. Result, Wirral 33 points, Wallasey 86, Knotty Ash 100.
To-day Pembroke Harriers provide the opposition, from Bebington at 3.30. Next Saturday Wirral meet the famous Sefton Club on the same ground as to-day. The date of the West Lancashire Novice Championship to be run from Aintree, Dec. 4th, is approaching, a good muster is asked for, as the experience gained in these inter-club runs is of inestimable value.
