Wallasey Harriers ran off their club championship last Saturday, in squally weather. Taking an 8½ mile course by way of Bidston, Moreton and Leasowe, all competitors finished in good condition, taking into account the heavy going.
Eric Lockley proved the winner (time 51 mins.), with Hector S. Heighley second (time 53 mins. 15 secs.)
This is the second successive year young Lockley has carried off the "Peers" cup and club medal, truly a clever performance.
The sealed handicap resulted in the following placings :-1, J. H. Everett; 2, J. B. Graham; 3, D. A. J. Seddon.
To-day at 3-15, the usual club run takes place, when some good and healthy sport may be anticipated.
