Arnold Dinsdale, Wallasey Athletic Club member, ran in the Territorial Army championships at Harrogate on Saturday, and running his best race of the season, finished second over the very heavy course.
In finishing second he beat over 100 runners from all parts of the country.
H.M.S. Conway were the visiting team at Wallasey last Saturday, and despite the heavy rain an excellent race was run over the five-mile course.
As the age ranges of the visiting team were rather wide, a selection of youth and juniors made up Wallasey's team. It was quite an easy victory for the club, whose six counting men were well to the front. First man home was J. Lynch of Wallasey, who ran a splendid race and finished a good 200 yards ahead of R. Johnson, Eric Maddock and K. Ledward, who finished together. R. Scammell and J. Winrow finished well up and Wallasey won by scoring 23 points to Conway's 45.
Next week the club is running at Old Roan against Boundary Harriers. Members are asked to meet at 2 o'clock at Seacombe.
