In the Wallasey Athletic Club world an extensive six weeks' training course comes to an end, and the racing season is about to begin. The facilities for training will remain, but, with a considerable number of fixtures on the Wallasey card their first test will be a three-cornered match at Woolton against the well-known Pembroke and the R.A.F. on Saturday, November 17th.
n preparation for this race Wallasey Athletic Club are holding a practice match to-day. The start and finish will be in Green Lane, Wallasey Village. The course lies over the Bidston Marshes, and the juniors will complete one lap and the seniors two laps. Times will be taken and officials will be practised in their duties.
New members will be welcomed at the club this afternoon. A fast and a slow pack will be run so that those in training may race and newcomers be initiated less vigorously.
The headquarters are at the tennis pavilion behind No. 18, Green Lane. Those running should be there at 2-30 p.m. sharp.
