Wallasey held their five mile handicap last Saturday, though in consequence the boisterous weather the original course had to be abandoned, and the distance was nearer six miles than five.
A dozen members turned out for the occasion, and after a gruelling fight for position Williams won first place, followed by Young and Seddon. The time was 34 minutes 15 seconds, which was a good performance considering the heavy head wind that had to be contended with. Bob Young did very well to get second place, and it is really remarkable how these old stagers give the younger members a good run. The club invites applications for membership from residents in the Wallasey district, and all enquiries should be made to Mr R. G. Hyde, 14 Cromer-drive, Wallasey.
