Liverpool Corporate Cup
Runners from across Merseyside braved terrible conditions at the Liverpool Corporate Cup. The 5k race at Croxteth Hall and Country Park had to be split into two events this year because of the large number of entrants.

Taylor made for Euro showdown
Liverpool Pembroke Sefton star Phil Taylor has been called up into the Great Britain squad for this weekend's European Indoor Championships. The runner will represent Britain in the 4x400m in Birmingham. He is joined in the men's team by JMU student Martyn Bernard, who will compete in the high jump.

Park set for 10k bonanza
Women athletes from the elite through to the novice will turn out in force on Sunday for the 21st Liverpool Women's 10k. The favourite is the city's own marathon international Jenny Clague, who won the race in 1998. Fellow Liverpool Harrier, Celia Whelan is also among the top runners.
