Penny Lane Striders 10k - Sun
22/06/2008
5 of Wallasey Athletic Club's male runners joined
the 486 record entry in the popular Penny Lane Striders 10k. Heat is normally the challenge in this race, however, on
this occasion it was the wind. The 40 mph cross wind, whilst not hampering the runners directly, meant that they were
buffeted for most of the course along Otterspool promenade. Greg Jones made light of the conditions to record
36:17 for 18th place, he was followed by Tony Barbat 36:41 in 24th. Steve Lampkin set a personal best recording
40:39 and 80th place.
