Wirral Seaside Run - 5k - Wed 23/9/2007

The race was dedicated to the memory of Harriet Walley who loved the Seaside Runs. Nicci Davies paid tribute to Harriet saying "Harriet was a fellow runner who greatly enjoyed participating in a variety of races. She was fun company, with her Irish humour, and knew a few from Wallasey Athletic Club having been introduced at several races. I was trying to persuade her to become a member of the club and she was hoping to join at some stage, but with heavy work commitments and three children her time was restricted. Harriet was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2005 and very sadly died in September 2006 at the young age of 49 years. She is greatly missed by all of her friends and will always be remembered"

13 Wallasey runners completed the race and Wallasey occupied positions 2,3 and 4. Mike Stanley was the first man home and Vicky Kehoe was narrowly beaten into second place. There were seaside personal bests for Vicky, Lisa Carney, Barry Metcalfe and Derek McArdle who completed his first 5k in under 20 minutes
