Ramsey's 100th Birthday

 

Charles 'Ramsey' Hewson, who has been a member of Wallasey Athletic Club since 1935, celebrated his 100th birthday on 4th January 2021.

He has been a stalwart of the club for 85 years and has represented the club on many occasions. He competed in many of the Christmas handicaps and as well as running, Ramsey also helped out with the administration of the club. Acting as president on several occasions he also served in various roles on the club committee and was president of the Northern Cross Country Association.

Born and bred in Wallasey he still lives here with his wife of nearly seventy years. He started his career in the RAF and also worked as an accountant for British American Tobacco.
