The Northumberland Coastal Run was an unmeasured half-marathon from Beadnell to Alnmouth. This year marked 40 years of the race, there were 12 people in the first race and over the years it has expanded, with 1,250 people now registering each year to take part. Mary Rees said "Pretty much ideal conditions apart from quite strong headwind against us on the beach sections." and finished in 02:03 and winning her age category in the process.
