The cross-country season was officially opened on Saturday, when all clubs
affiliated to the Liverpool & District Cross-Country Union met at West Derby for the Monstre Meet.
Wallasey A.C. was well represented by fifteen of its members, and although none was placed in the mile break at the end of the run, Bob Johnson, who finished fourth, and J. McFarland and A. Dinsdale, who finished in the first ten; all showed promise of greater things to come over the longer distances in the later part of the season.
Regular training runs have now started from the new headquarters in Leasowe Road on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7.30, and Saturdays at 3 p.m.
The club's team for the Cheshire County Championships, to be held in December, is training regularly on these days.
Anyone interested in athletics, either as an active member or as a supporter, is cordially invited to visit the club on the training evenings, or to contact the secretary, Mr. R. F. Hubbard; of 39 Beech Road, Birkenhead.
