A fast lap by Dinsdale, who has been consistently returning fastest times since he became club champion in January, could, not offset the disappointing performances by other seniors in the Sefton Park Road Race Relay and Wallasey Athletic Club finished fifth, one place down on last year's result.
The winners were Liverpool Harriers, each runner in the teams of 8 covered 3¼ miles W.A.C. times in order of running were: Dinsdale (17m. 50s.); Maddock (18m. 45s.); Hughes (20m. 19s.); Tony Dickinson (19m. 02s.); Thompson (19m. 09s.); Whitburn (19m. 40s.); Hewson (19m. 35s.); Denis Dickinson (18m. 17s.): total 2 hrs. 32m. 17s.
The track season opens at the end of this month, but the club cross-country headquarters will be open today and next Saturday for those who wish to keep in trim.
